Work Experience:

2004 – 2007: Seed Science Ltd. Designed, set-up and run first commercial floating geoduck hatchery successfully.
2005 – 2007: Centre for Shellfish Research, Malaspina University College: Set up and successfully run a re-circulation shellfish hatchery for research and commercial production. Sourced for and obtained research and development grants for research projects.
2001- 2005: Probiotic Solutions Ltd /Seed Science Ltd. Isolated, purified and characterized several strains of native bacteria occurring in the aquatic environment, sediments, marine plants as well as larvae and adults of cultured fish and shellfish. Developed probiotic bacteria antagonistic against fish pathogens, Aeromonas salmonicida, Vibrio anguillarum and Yersinia ruckeri
1998 – 2001: Island Scallops Ltd: Developed commercial culture techniques for the Green sea urchin, Red sea urchin and the sea cucumber.
1997–1998: The Cultured Crustacean Company Limited. :Accomplished the first successful commercial scale production of spot prawn seed and juveniles.

 

Recent Projects:

Designed, set up and Run successful modular geoduck hatchery
Designed hatchery component of 10m fry /annum sea bream/sea bass facility
Designed 4 million seed/annum sea urchin juvenile production facility
Isolated and developed effective probiotics against several bacterial fish pathogen
